Around Yasser Murtaja, Roshdi Sarraj, and “Between Two Crossings”

Mahmoud Abu Ghalwa talks to AFLAMUNA.online about his friends Yasser and Roshdi, the journey of the film, his work, and the hardships he and all Palestinians in Gaza endure under theIsraeli occupation.

Mahmoud Abu Ghalwa has worked in videos for over 10 years, focusing on editing films. He gained experience at Al Jazeera and worked on over 200 films in different places and areas. He also produced and directed a short film called "Paper Boat." Currently, he is directing an animated film titled "How We Fell in Love" for Al-Hakawatiya Production Company in Australia.

Between Two Crossings (2018) is a documentary directed by Palestinian journalist and filmmaker from Gaza, Yasser Murtaja, who was shot and killed by an Israeli sniper while covering the protest of the Great March of Return on April 6, 2018. Rushdi Al-Sarraj, Yasser's best friend and co-director, met a similar tragic fate. He was killed in Gaza on October 22, 2023, as a result of an Israeli bombing that targeted the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood.

Racha Salah is a cultural management professional focusing on the arts and cultural sectors in the Arab Region. She has held roles as an art programmer, consultant, and executive director. Racha’s strategic expertise has contributed to the success of cultural organizations and festivals. As Executive Director of an art foundation in Beirut, she managed exhibition spaces, curated programs and cultural events. Racha is currently the head of programming at the black gold museum and an AFLAMUNA board member.
